Sure, he had occasionally dabbled in stopping pucks, but his decision to strap on the pads full time just four years ago is now benefitting the Oakville minor midget AA Rangers. "I always played a game or two (in net) every year but I decided to make the switch in peewee," p , said the Rangers g netminder. Leon posted four shutouts at last week's Richard Bell Memorial Minor Hockey Tournament, including a 17-save effort in the final as the Rangers blanked the Mississauga Braves 5-0 Friday afternoon. Leon's goaltending partner Lukas Marek also had a shutout in the tournament as the Rangers held five of their six opponents without a goal. That's nothing new for the Rangers. They've allowed a g goal or less in half of their 24 league g games g -- including g seven shutouts -- for a league-best 1.42 goals-against average. "They've both been very good for us," said Rangers head coach Dave Crozier. "In other tournaments, it's been Lukas." And there's been plenty of tournament success to go around.
