Police remaining tight-lipped about theft of guns Halton Regional Police are asking for help from the public in finding a person who stole numerous guns from a Lyndhurst Drive home on Friday, Dec. 30. Police said the theft happened around 6:45 p.m. when a trio of men broke into the home. Once in, the suspects stole numerous guns as well as ammunition and jewelry. However, despite asking for the public's help, as of Wednesday, police were remaining tight-lipped about the number of guns stolen, what type they were, how much ammunition had been taken and whether or not the firearms were legal. Police did confirm that the stolen firearms had been legally stored. Investigating officers would not say if they believed this incident is connected to a Burlington break-in that took place on Dec. 5, in which several semi-automatic handguns were stolen. The suspects in the Oakville theft are described as male, 30-40 years of age and wearing dark clothing. Following the break-in, the suspects were seen getting into a newer model, silver Audi A6 or A8, four-door sedan with chrome rims. Halton police continue to investigate this incident and anyone with information related to it is asked to contact Det.-Const.
