color set by GMHA By Special to the Herald In their last meeting the Georgetown Minor Hockey Association executive firmly established the player equipment colours for he Georgetown county rep hockey teams All Georgetown rep hockey players will be expected to wear black helmets pants and gloves when they represent the associa tion in hockey competition The executives unanimous deci sion was intended to end local speculation that the association was contemplating changing equipment colours This specula tion resulted in parental confusion when buying hockey equipment The association also felt that the speculation not fair to local sport stores when they ordered their hockey equipment for the season When Georgetown rep hockey players take to the ice in hockey competition they will look like a rep team with uniform sweater and equipment colours stated Hal Pells Minor Hockey Associa tion President The Association decision ends all confusion over rep hockey player equipment colours and will assist both parents and local businesses when purchasing rep hockey player equipment The Georgetown Minor Hockey Association executive wish all potential rep hockey players good luck in their tryouts Auto racing fans get good news Stock car racing fans in Halton Hills got some good news recently hen the Players Series was extended through the 1992 season A joint announcement bv cosponsors General Motors of Canada Limited and Players Ltd said that while dates venues anil prize money for the 1991 season in still being discussed compel will be able to use model Chevrolet Z28 Camaros and Trans Am Firebirds being raced The Players Series now in its fifth season of competition appears at all of Canadas major motor racing venues and events in eluding the Grand Prix the Molson Indys in Toronto and Van couver the Grand Prix of Trois- and the Players Ltd 500 ASA stockcar championship It features identicallyprepared Camaros and Firebirds competing throughout a season lasting from May to October and is televised na tionally as part of the GM Hour on the and Global television networks and syndicated across Canada We arc delighted to join with our cosponsors at Players Ltd in to this Orangeville reservoir Waterfowl hunters in the Georgetown area wont have far to travel in order to enjoy their sport and they wont have long to wait either The Credit Valley Conservation Authority has announced the schedule for the 1990 waterfowl hunt at the Orangeville Reservoir The waterfowl hunt has been very popular in the past and as long as hunters conduct themselves within the framework of the law we should be able to con tinue the hunt in the future says Field Superintendent Jim Hastings Hunters are allowed at the reser voir from September to October Hunting times are half an hour before sunrise to noon Saturdays and 400 p to half an hour after sunset on Tuesdays and Thursdays The Reservoir has blinds available some by boat only and blinds are assigned on a first come first served basis There is no preregist ration No gasoline powered motors are allowed on the Reservoir and all hunters must have either a dog or a boat to retrieve birds The intent of our hunt is to manage the wildlife resource of the area to balance the population to the carrying capacity of the site while gathering species data says CVCA Land Resources Manager Ken Owen The Orangeville Reservoir is
