first round qualifying Hub League playoff series against Cambridge The first game ended up in a tie Acton won the second game of the playoff series at home last Wednesday Jan 24 then Cam bridge played turn around fair play last Thursday by slipping past the crew 42 in a game played in Cambridge The 32 second game Acton win saw everyone contributing and the total team effort was rewarded with the initial playoff triumph Andrew was rock solid in the Acton nets while Devon Fraser paced the attack with an unassisted goal plus an assist Acton enjoyed a first penod lead and led after two periods of play Cambridge scored the lone third period goal simply a case of too lit tie too late as Acton held on for the win Jason Christopher and Kyle Artem were the other Acton goal scorers s goal was also an unassisted effort The following evening in Cam bridge featured the goaltenders both teams as both Acton s Andrew Coe and his Cambridge counterpart Larry stag ed clinics Cambridge appeared to have the game well in hand and led entering third period play Acton rallied however and with 2 38 left in the contest had tied the game 2 2 Early game flatness came back to haunt Acton as Cambridge scored Kettle had to play minus one player which did not help their cause Five points was a good showing under the circumstances Copper Kettle I hosted 0 Tooles and fell by 311 winning two singles and a team
