26 at the Huttonville School Reverend Bob from the School for the Deaf in Toronto was the guest speaker Rev Rumball praised the Lions Club for providing the tools so deaf children will lead a productive life and are taken into schools for the deaf and the sign language They can then grow up taking their place in the community Rev told many hear trending stones One of their five adopted children a little girl who realized that as girls grew up and become young women they wore earrings But this little girl had no ears to put earrings on So her one big wish when she asked the doctor for ears was just big enough to wear earrings and believe it or not they ed to make that possible The Lions Club members a Spring and Fait Craft Anti que Show and Sale at Huttonville as well as run bingo nights in Brampton for weeks both money making projects These in turn help to make the donations they provide to many groups and projects They are donating air circulating fans to the Bennett Health Care Centre Georgetown as well as crib boards in table models for the residents enjoy ment They also give to the Canine Vision En Oakvflle to train one dog Rev was presented with a cheque by the Lions Club A second presentation of a Ford Escort car was made to the Peel Branch of the V 0 which will be used in the Huttonville area Carol executive director of the VON accepted the car The Col ton of Vancouver He Is also survived by his sister Isabel He was predeceased by his wife Betty Snyder Fred Robertson will be missed Homby resident all his life Fred Robertson passed away at the Milton and District Hospital on Jan in his 71st year Fred was born and raised in the Hornby area and spent a good part of his early life at the by Post Office where his parents the late Harry and Robertson were postmasters In 1940 he married Clara and they con tinued to live at Hornby when they purchased the George Ken nedy home and property at the CNR crossing Trafalgar Road south of the village They raised their family of six while they were busily engaged in mink farming In 1958 they bought what used to be known as the Brain Brewery Farm on the Ninth Line and enlarged their mink farming However ill health the last five years brought early retirement when they sold their farm and built a new home on the corner of their property Fred will be lovingly remembered by his wife
