The campaign, announced this week, comes as Wellspring is pre- paring to undergo a major transfor- mation to provide much needed cancer support programs to a grow- ing number of people living in Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington and surrounding communities. Its expanded facility will include a teaching kitchen, expanded exer- cise room, childrens centre, art therapy studio and Money Matters Resource Centre. Oakville resident Betty Birmingham and her late husband, Bruce, were instrumental in launch- ing the campaign by generously donating a $1 million lead gift. Oakville resident Peter Gilgan, who is at the helm of Mattamy Homes, has joined the campaign as its honourary chair and has com- mitted, together with Mattamy Homes, to build the 3,600 sq. ft. addition.
