OUR READERS WRITE Hope others have Nassagaweya I have reached a point In time that I finding difficult to face I must leave Brook villi Public School It has now been years more than a quarter of all that I have lived more than a half of all that I have taught since I arrived here Indeed it was years ago that I came to Township and except for three enjoyable years spent In Milton this community has been my professional home ever since Indicative of our changing values I frequently hear the How can find challenge or satisfaction in a position after so long a time Indicative of what lias been to me is my reaction one might as well ask How can you find challenge or satisfaction in your family after so long a time Seeing the same children graduate that I once registered as beginners and seeing former students return as adults teachers or parents are among the very special rewards that company long tenure In a position In 1960 1 had I the good fortune of Joining a group of people with a purpose The group was the Township School Area Board and the purpose to build a better school system for their children As the years went by I found ample evidence that our fine Board personnel were truly representative of their constituents in char and in purpose Right from the beginning I was accepted into the sessions of dreaming planning and building It was an ideal setting in which to learn new dimensions of integrity and respect and I acquired a much more refined definition for quality of life during the process Eleven years of rich experiences In volving children parents and teachers have added up to more assets on my behalf than any one man could ever repay No matter what the future may hold such a long re warding period right In the middle of my will always remain the highlight On Monday June my wife two children and myself along with two other ladies attended the lacrosse game in Acton between the Mississauga P C 0 B and the Acton Rams We have attended games In every town that plays but I have never seen or heard of such as Acton has for fans During the first period of the game when I was sitting beside my wife all was fine During the second period when I was silting further down the row and out of direct earshot my wife and the other ladles had directed at them the worst abuse they hate ever heard It a shame when people cannot go to an town game without having that kind of foul mouthed garbage directed at them When m wife asked If they would mind their language she was told to This type of language was also directed at the Mississauga players with the ladies and children sitting there Later I was sitting beside my wife brave young people kept their mouths shut Unfortunately for cither them or myself did not hear of this until the over as they did not want to start a fight After the game I complained to the arena manager and his only comment was Yes I know it happens He did not offer to try and put a stop to It in the future even though there is a large sign inside the door which lists the arena rules one of which is No Profanity I hope it is not too much to ask that Acton which has a fine lacrosst team put a stop to their young Acton citizens heaping such abuse on visiting fans Is it too costly to pay to have police in attendance After what happened night I wonder If the parents of these punks know what they are really like and can say they are proud of them If they were mine I would put them in a pig sty with the other animals where they belong We will be back in Acton the next time plays there because we are lacrosse fans but I hope there is someone in Acton that cares enough about lacrosse to put a stop to the type of thing that happened on Monday night I would appreciate this letter be printed so that the good of Acton I am sure there are many as your lacrosse team see it and become aware of what actually on at the I am sure that nont of them would want the same thing to happen to them and as I said It has never happen In any other town Yours trulj A Disgusted Fan Need rural families for program Main St Milton June Dear Sir I am writing with regard to tht Urban Rural I program which is underway in
