The 18-year-old Di Salvo, a netminder with the Barrie Colts, was named to the Ontario Hockey League's Eastern Conference squad that will play the Russians Nov. 19 at Barrie's Molson Centre. The series helps identify talent leading up to the annual world junior tournament. Oakville's Steve Mason, John Tavares, Stefan Legein and Sam Gagner are past participants in the series (when it was known as the ADT CanadaRussia Challenge) and all went on to represent Canada at the world junior championships. The Russians will play two games against each of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League and Western Hockey League during the series. "This is a great opportunity for me," Di Salvo told the Barrie Colts website. "It's a great honour to play for Team OHL or Team Canada. I'm very excited at this chance."
