7 · OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, September 30, 2009 Woman robbed at automated bank teller The Halton Regional Police Service is searching for two men following a Saturday night robbery at the Bank of Montreal, 240 North Service Rd., W. Police said the incident took place at around 10 p.m. when two men demanded money from a 50-year-old Hamilton woman, who had stopped to use the bank's automated teller machine. The woman attempted to reason with the men, but as they approached her she felt threatened and turned over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspects then fled the scene and were last seen running north across North Service Road West. Police arrived with a canine unit moments later, but were unable to locate the suspects. The victim was not injured during the robbery and no weapon was seen or indicated. The first suspect is described as black, 5foot-6 in height with a heavy build. He wore a black `puffy' jacket and a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head. The second suspect is described as black, 5-foot-8 in height, with a medium build. He wore a black `puffy' jacket and a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled over his head. The Halton Regional Police Service is continuing to investigate this incident and anyone with information related to it is asked to contact the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777, ext. 2215 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222--TIPS (8477).
