OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, May 20, 2009 · 28 Cordingley wins NLL title Recently named as the National Lacrosse League's coach of the year, Troy Cordingley has now won his third NLL championship. Cordingley's Calgary Roughnecks won the Champions Cup Friday in Calgary, topping the New York Titans 12-10 in front of 13,042 fans at Pengrowth Saddledome. The league championship is Calgary's second in franchise history. Cordingley, an Oakville native who teaches at an elementary school in Mississauga, won two NLL championships as a player. His playing career was cut short due to an ankle injury suffered 12 years ago.
