On April 15 and 16, the men's store held a spring-cleaning event to help the Oakville Salvation Army reach their donation goal for the year. Thousands of flyers and emails were sent out to customers asking them to stake out and eliminate gently used suits, sport jackets and outerwear from their closets and put them to good use. Everyone who successfully brought in one of their gently used items received a $10 Burrows voucher which they could use toward their next purchase or had the option of donating it to the Salvation Army. When the idea was brought to the Salvation Army, they were extremely interested, explains Harry; one of Burrows' highly experienced sales associates. "There are a lot of people in need in this community," he explains. "This was a win-win situation for everyone involved," Harry says. "Customers were able to clean out their closets and the Salvation Army can now help a lot of people." The event was a great success, Ron Burrows (right), owner of Burrows Clothiers on Lakeshore Road accepts an arm load of suits from Ron McKenzie (left) to donate to the Salvation Army. Harry explains. "We were all overwhelmed by how successful the two-day event was and would like to thank all of our loyal customers that played a part in helping their community." 209 LAKESHORE ROAD EAST Downtown Oakville (905)845-2031 www.barringtons.ca Mon - Fri: 9-6 Sat: 9-5 Sun: 12-5
