Funkfest reunites Motown alumnus Leroy Emmanuel (LMT Connection), world renowned horn section The Chops Horns (Parliament, Alicia Keys), and twotime Juno nominees Newworldson. Over Leroy Emmanuel's 50-year career in the music industry, he has recorded and/or toured with Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Dionne Warwick and the Funk Brothers, to name only a few. The Chops Horns have recorded with some of the top names in the music business, such as Public Enemy, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey and Christina Aguilera. Roots music explorers Newworldson bring their updated take on soul, funk and gospel to this year's Funkfest, which they have been showcasing to audiences all across Europe, Australia and North America. The vision of Funkfest is threefold. One, to bring the legacy and the future of funk together in one concert. Second, to invite world-class entertainment that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and backgrounds. And last, to constantly extend Funkfest's musical family by introducing new artists every year. In keeping with this tradition, celebrated international percussionist Pablo Batista (Alicia Keys, Kirk Franklin) will be a featured guest. Advance tickets are available now on iTickets.com for $22 and at the door for $30. For information, visit www.funkfest.ca.
