The school's JK-Grade 2 students were rewarded with a pajama party viewing of the movie after they surpassed a goal, set by teacher Annissa McClure, of reading more than 3,000 books during the month of December. The students wound up reading 3,200 books and were rewarded with the pajama party that featured not only the movie, but hot chocolate and cookies, too. If the numbers are any indication, parents and concerned citizens have a lot to say about the Halton District School Board's proposed solution for accommodation problems in elementary schools in Ward 4 Oakville. There are 27 delegations scheduled to speak at a special board meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 14, according to board staff. Each delegation will be given 10 minutes to present their case. The recommendation comes in response to the board's annual look at the accommodation numbers and facilities for the region, where Ward 4 Oakville was identified as an area that needed to be addressed. One single-track French immersion school, two-dual track schools and five single-track English schools is the proposed solution put forward to address unbalances in the area. The recommendation was scheduled to be presented as an information item with an explanation by * See Education page 3 PRICES ARE MELTING! 25% OFF Alaskan Ice Melter 5 kg jug Sku.# 130304 Reg. $8.27 Eco-Guard Ice Melter 9 kg bag Sku.# 298782 Reg. $10.99 Get a Grip Ice Melter & Traction Aid Sku.# 800689 Reg. $11.74 Now $ 620 Now $ 399 Speers Road, Oakville Prices in effect until Sunday, January 18/09 824 Now $ 880 (Speers Road and Dorval Drive) 905.844.8010
