She had been embroidering and sewing since childhood, making most of her own clothing for many years, as well as creating pieces using batik techniques. However, these classes were the start of a 30-year craft career as a weaver and dyer. After three decades of weaving, creating large scale tapestries as well as a line of hand-dyed, hand-woven scarves and other accessories, and achieving the designation Master Weaver in 1990, Wille has scaled back her time at the loom to explore other avenues for her creativity. One of these avenues is working with glass, creating intricate beads. For information, contact Christel Wille at 905-845-1291.
