www.oakvillebeaver.com The Oakville Beaver, Friday June 8, 2007 - 43 Intrada Brass musical director in demand In the past two months, Intrada Brass of Oakville music director Bram Gregson has been busy on the road in addition to his work with Oakville's resident brass band, who ended their season at the Oakville Centre on May 27 with a concert featuring Halton Junior Jazz, teenage IBO soloists and a teenage composer. The highlight of Gregson's travels was serving as an adjudicator for the North American Brass Band Championship held every April in Louisville, Kentucky. In the same period he made two trips to western Canada. The first, to Edmonton, had him spending two days with the Band of the Royal Canadian Artillery, one of the best bands in the Canadian Armed Forces. Later he went to Regina where he led a weekend seminar and massed band concert with brass bands from Regina, Saskatoon and Winnipeg. One of the positive by-products of Gregson's travels has been brisk sales of Intrada Brass CDs. "Everywhere I've been, people have snapped up IBO CDs, and I could have sold more if I'd had them," he said.. Gregson is now busy preparing for Intrada Brass of Oakville's next season, which is titled A Blazon of Trumpets, with each of the three concerts featuring an outstanding trumpet soloist.
