4- The Oakville Beaver, Friday April 6, 2007 www.oakvillebeaver.com Raid startles neighbourhood Continued from page 1 Despite this secrecy, one Warbler resident, who asked not to be identified, says he believed the police were successful in this raid as at least one man was taken from the house in handcuffs. The Oakville raid appears to have started at approximately 6 a.m., which is when Holly Wilhelm, who lives just a few houses down from where the Warbler Road police action took place, was startled by what she initially thought was thunder. "It was like thunder I never heard before, so I'm making the assumption that they might have been gun shots. There were about three or maybe four of them," she said. Another neighbour, who also asked not to be identified, heard the explosions too. "It didn't sound like normal lightning, it was like a kaboom. I don't know if they used a stun grenade or something," he said. "I looked out the front window and the cops were already blocking off the street," he added. By 10 a.m. Wednesday morning three Halton Police cruisers were parked outside the house with officers periodically entering through a garage door that bore the signs of apparently being forced open during the morning. This is the largest police action mounted against the Hell's Angels since the Sept. 28 PROJECT TANDEM in which police made 27 arrests and also seized great quantities of drugs, weapons, motor vehicles and currency.
