wasnt meant to be but the costumes were definitely among the highlights at ux bridge secondary schools production of the boyf riend last weekend at the school everything from the beach to the ballroom was vividly captured in this live ly and colorful presentation of the musical classic of the 20s- the performers too kept pace with their finery dis playing just the right touches of dash and daring throughout sustaining the kind of energy demanded by something as quick moving as the boy friend and while all may not have been technically per fect there was always enough spirit ind sparkle from the cast of 25 to keep the large audience happily entranced there were also some nice individual perform ances dancers chris rutherford and heather cornell did a fine romp as a couple of spanish dancers rod corbett established his comic character early and pulled off a few crazy cap ers along the way and tracey ware and raj singh were impressive in their version of never too late to fall in love leslie pritchard sustain ing a rich french accent and partner jodi arm strong also brought their share of showmanship to it all f ij a most enjoyable produc tion from director john gar- butt and choreographer w henry and of course from every member of this very fine cast v
