one such animal feeding it for over two months over the easter weekend the dog had a litter of five in the thomes back yard but before they discovered this four of the pups had died surprised that the dog had not returned to its rightful home for the birth the thornes humanely took the weak mother and her pup into their home neither wanting nor needing a dog they phoned neighbors in the hope of finding a suitable home by the afternoon they had secured one some time later that day a man arrived claimed the dogs and took them away in spite of the thomes protests that they had found a better
