appear satis fied and did not bother with the nomination meeting let me ss sure you that we are not satis fied i would like to know how peo ple are supposed to know or be there when the meeting is on the same day as the paper is distributed it is a well planned scheme by your paper or by council not to let many know of the nomination meeting if this was published a week or two in advance i am sure that the turnout would be very large you also speak of a critical situation of having to press someone to close the gap for council but if the meeting was made public far enough in ad vance your socalled lack of interest and critical situation would be well taken care of another thing why are the polling stations never announc ed there- are numerous new comers to stouffville especially in the subdivisions who havent a clue to where they should vote this should be made pub lic yours truly george hall editors note in the tribune issue of october 26th a front page news item supported by a double column headline in formed its readers of the nomination meetings day dale and time in the same story a list of the towns four polling subdivisions were an nounced complete with the names of the deputy return ing officers and poll clerks in the tribune issue of nov 16th a large display advertise ment described the location of each poll and the area it would serve in addition several proclamations were posted throughout the town stouffville united church rev j gordon cruikshank ba sunday december 10th 1961 945 am junior to senior sunday school 1100 am nursery to primary sunday
