at fluoridation it is hard to believe that pro fessional men who are classed as experts should support a program that is designed to find a lucrative market for a poison ous wasteproduct of industry to the detriment of all who take it tjiere are several angles to this question which must be considered and several other questions which arise from it the question is what is the basic fundamental cause of tooth decay this question is seldom broached the answer is malnutrition and wrong dietary habits chem ical fertilization of land is one of the main causes of mineral and nutritional deficiencies in our food today to which of course the experts do not agree not only fluorides but other minerals such as calcium phos phorus and magnesium which are equally essential for sound tooth nourishment are largely lacking in todays diet there are a few corners of the world which still exist free from the encroachment of modern civili zation where natural agricul- tue is practised and where dis ease tooth decay and doctors are practically unknown it is incredible the emphasis which is placed on sodium fluor ide as a means to combat tooth decay while at tne same time we condone the massive adver tising campaign for the sale of soft drinks and denatured and artificial foods which comprise a large percentage of our diet and which are also a major fac tor in tooth decay these facts give rise to grave suspicions as to the real motive behind the campaign for the promotion of fluoridation of water there is no denying the fact that sodium fluoride is a violent poison a chemical and not a naturally occurring mineral fluorides are not present in vegetation or foods in such a chemical combination as sodium fluoride but in organic combin ation with other minerals which are readily assimilable and met abolized and which are not pois onous inorganic chemicals can not properly or safely be sub stituted for the natural we are witnessing the failure of this practise in the increasing prev alence of disease according to scientific investi gation over the past several years sodium fluoride inactiv ates the vitamins in the body interfering directly with the me tabolic processes it decreases the activity of the pancreatic enzyme secretion lipase by 50 even in such small concentra tion as one part per five million according to one authority the proposed safe concentration of one part per million is equival ent to the toxic dose there are many other harmful results of fluoridation too numerous to mention here remember that sodium fluor ide is not volatilized from water by boiling so that the longer water is boiled the more con centrated it becomes and the more dangerous to health think of the danger in restaur ants where water is often kept boiling for long periods of time in a period of five years the water system may become cor roded as lias already occurred in concord new hampshire where 28 parts per million were found in an analysis of a sam ple of the water and proved to have come from the accumulat ed deposits some other facts should be known sweden and switzerland have rejected fluoridation over 2000 two thousand american com munities have rejected it and 75 other cities in the usa after having put fluorides in their water supply have stopped it after the facts have become known three dentists in new york conducted an experiment on a large number of school children with tooth decay they were fed three tablets per day of bone meal each for one year which stopped the tooth decay bone meal is a product which con tains naturally all the mineral elements for tooth and bone development and preservation with no harmful aftereffects then why put poison in the water everyone should think thor oughly over this very serious question of fluoridation of the water supply both as to its harmful effects upon health and the assault upon your free dom thstiirr my h n61 the stoufryiuj tribune pi 13 suojsvwo jib joj
