1s9l son of the late edward g eckardt and abigal risebrough he farmed on the homestead north of glas gow and spent many years as a thresher thirtyfour years ago they moved to their present resi dence east of stouffville and ran a garage business then es tablished a custom sawmill in which he worked even up to the morning he took ill mr eckardt was an ardent hockey and baseball fan and took an active part in all com munity affairs eesides his wife the former margaret morrison he leaves four daughters one son 16 grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren his children are mabel mrs thomas mitchell of keswick rettah mrs norman pellatt sudbury elsie mrs leonard adams belleville mary mrs lionel elson stouffville and gordon at home the funeral service was con ducted by rev dow sargent from
