highlight ol the banquet was a very interesting and in spiring illustrated address by dr p b rynard member ol parliament for east simcoe he showed many interesting col oured slides on his recent trip around the world on which he was personal physician to the prime minister ol canada mr william stone president ol the ontario county holstein club was in the chair he re viewed the work ol the holstein club during the past year all ol the meetings and projects sponsored by the club had been successlul events mr h l fair agricultural representa tive announced the winners ol the trophies won by holstein breeders at port perry and by 4h club members in their var ious 4h club achievement days cial presentation ol these tro- jphies and awards will be made at the annual holstein club meeting to be held in the town ship hall manchester on sat urday february 6th mr fair also announced that mr everett biggs dairy commissioner lor ontario would be the guest speaker at this annual meeting a very splendid musical pro gramme was presented by the victoria county junior far mers male quartette this quar tette was the winner ol the provincial jr farmer male quartette championship at the competitions held in toronto last january mr cecil disney second vice- president expressed the appre ciation ol the club to the la dies lor a very splendid ban quet mr ross evans first vice president for the past three years death came suddenly monday afternoon born at lemonville seventy- one years ago daughter of the late john and amelia pipher she attended school here as a young girl she was for a num ber of years clerk at simpsons in toronto moving to new market in 1914 in 1916 she mar ried elliott haines who pre deceased her six years ago mrs haines was active in church sunday school and the community at large she is sur vived by four children june at home melbourne of jacksons point harry of manitoulin isl and betty mrs thomas proud newmarket and by fourteen grandchildren messrs clifford and mel bourne piphor of stoucjville are the last surviving members of the family of eight the funeral was largely attended and was conducted by rev coghhl from roadhouse rose funeral home
