platform in the un ited church last sunday in lov ing memory of the late mrs frank hamm by the family we regret that mrs milton benson fell and broke her leg in her home last week and was rushed to the hospital where she is making satisfactory pro gress mrs benson passed her 81st year recently and her hus band his s4th he is looking after the home during his part ners absence with available assistance from married daugh ters in the community if re quired tragedy struck violently at one of our well known families last friday evening when mr gnd mrs donald beelby and twoyearold daughter accom panied by a young aunt phyl lis were driving home for christmas with their parents mr and mrs robt beelby when the car was struck head- on by a swiftly passing car go ing south on the highway east of locust hill the impact tore the baby from her mothers arms hurling it through the windshield and killing the lit tle one almost instantly also injuring the mother and aunt quite severely all were rush ed to the hospital where the patients are doing as well as can be expected the funeral of the little girl was held on tues day afternoon from the home of her grandparents mr and mrs robt beelby the sympa thy of the community is ex tended to the suffering and ber eaved family and relatives mrs robert haslem of stouff- ville is a half sister of mr robt beelby mr and mrs earle cook and children enjoyed a couple of days including christmas with imr and mrs bruce harton and mrs cook in lansing mr and mrs allan tomlin- sou and family of hamilton spent the holiday with their parents
