out in cold and wet to save tb school floors mr editor wouldnt that make quite a headline the fact is that it would be true surely youve heard from other mothers the way the school is being run you can use this letter if you wish my children and others too are not allowed in the school even on wet days not even in the rooms downstairs where i thought they were supposed to play i think its more than time the school board told their em ployees what can be done in the school and what cant i hear some of the mothers are going to go to the board meet ings if this isnt done our school is like a jail only this jail i hard to get into not out of a little more teach- of discipline on the way to and from school and a little less rules and regulations chains and locked doors around the school would help a lot more we have a nice school now and it was a nice school years ago when i went there but at that time we could play down stairs on bad days we could not race about the halls at re cess and noon hours but we werent ordered outside like cattle its time something was done to look into the way these things are run yours confidentially mrs b a mother local and personal happenings help especially those who have children go ing to the public school were let know the conditions there i know some of my friends have written tb the school board protesting the way the little children are used but i thought a letter to you might get more action we all thought that when the bigger children moved to their new school there would be plen ty of play room in the base ment but it is being saved for something else nobody knows what the children are not al lowed to play down in their playrooms theyre even forced out of doors on wet days to get wet feet and colds i dont know for a fact but im told that they cant even go to the washrooms when they wish as theres a chain across the way the conditions are awful why doesnt the board do some thing who is supposed to run the school i always thought it was the board just because the caretaker might have a little more dirt to sweep up is no reason the children should suffer people who have lived here longer than i have tell me that the basement rooms were always meant for play rooms and were used tor this purpose in years gone by and nobody suffered- how about getting the board to see that the children are allowed to use the rooms that were meant for them i know the mothers are going to have a lot more n say if the lxard doesnt show that theyre boss can you help please keep my name confiden tial a public school mother
