unit throughout the whole of york county and it was decided to start this health service on april 1st in view of the above the fol lowing facts taken from the january report of the health unit may be o interest to our readers doctor king the dir ector and medical officer of health for the health unit says in his report the mid winter increase in communic able diseises is apparent with 47 cases of chicken pox 16 eas es of mumps 10 cases of scar let fever and 11 cases of whoo ping cough being reported in december a considerable number of cases have no doubt not been reported or have not taken the precaution of being seen by the family physcian and the total numb er of cases is probably much greater because of an appar ent mildness of attack with such diseases as scarlet fever or whooping
