commis sion for years much of the i financial work of this commis sion has been handled by the council and the queston was raised as to why the council i should be handling finances of this corporate body according to councillor hat- cliff the ontario statutes do j not call for the cemetery com- j mission to be an elected body but the bylaw under which stouffville operates does so however council has been cal- i led upon to sanction the price of plots and invest any sur plus money which accrues by the commission further fuel to the discus- jsion resulted in the presence i of an account for some 110 which has been charged to the j cemetery commission by the iiparks commission for the use i of the park tractor and mow- sbr the rate charged was 250 an hour council was given to understand that the commis sion had no mcinev with which the account and furth- nol think the work ik charged against to pay er did should them council voiced the opinion that it was a matter for the cemetery commission to charge sufficient so that they could operate on a sound fin ancial basis and be able to meet their accounts council lor daniels pointed out that the cemetery was kept up for a good many people who werent resident here and made no fin ancial contribution to this e- quipment councillor ratcliff stated that ho believed council was handling business which was rightly the business of the cemetery commission it was finally agreed that the reeve should investigate the proper authorities given to the commission and that a meeting of the cemetery board the park board and the council
