many of the old cus- have been discarded for many of them were good arbor day was one we believe that if the chamber of commerce would isor such a day throughout the country a day in h all citizens would be asked to share in the cleaning beautifying of each community it would go far in acting the tourist neat clean well kept surroundings are always at- tive especially if set oif with flowers shrubs and haliburton county echo to a fouryearold a puppy is more important than politics horse show has great possibilities local citizens are proud of our stouffville horse iw and the job which the town legion branch has le in promoting this fine attraction the show has iwn by leaps and bounds to be one of the most success- oneday horse shows conducted anywhere and there trong representation to have it enlarged to a twoday w and include driving horses this year saw the largest entry of animals yet rly one hundred horses taking part these horsemen horsewomen like to come to the stouffville show vve told us so they say they like the surroundings are more than enthusiastic for the show to be en- red into a twoday exhibition the lower park grounds have made a monderful site holding these shows the legion boys did con- table work this year in cleaning up a still greater i of park ground and it would be possible to include mall track for the showing of hackney ponies and ing horses arrangements could be made it is be- ed for the housing of horses and riders during a two- show and possibly some day in the future a building rht be erected for this purpose it is a fine thing for a town to have a horse show country fair once a year its a great rallying place friends it keeps alive the raising of high class horses other livestock and the publicity which the com- initv receives
