celebrate her 0th birthday on friday june 27th there are few persons who will be able to boast of attaining the age of miss duerden and still be able to go about her daily chores around the house happens that prepared feeds are the cause of poisoning of farm animals yet almost every year samples of suspected iced are submitted to department of agriculture inspectors for analy sis when some other action would be the logical one recently an ontario farmer lost some pigs and suspected that feed had poisoned them laboratory tests of the feed failed to show any trace of poison and other pigs fed the same feed remained per fectly healthy on the rare occasions where poison is found agricultural officials say it is generally the result of a slipup on the farm poisons like nitrate of soda seed disinfectants lead paint bug rat and gopher poison had got acci dentally mixed in with the feed in case of sickness or death of an animal a veterinarian should be called immediately rather than pickering twp passed away suddenly after a brief illness born in pickering twp in the year 1sst on the farm of his parents mr and mrs alfred michell the deceased worked for some time on the township roads for the last fifty years the late mr michell had been living on the farm now oper ated by hfs son at lot 31 con 7 pickering his wife the former sarah n turner still survives a member of the whitevale baptist church the deceased took an ac tive interest in all church work when his health permitted having held the office of sunday school superintendent of the pickering twp sunday school convention for thirty three years although not in the best of health for some two weeks his passing came as a great shock to his many friends and relatives besides his wife the deceased leaves one
