group was in charge of the pro gram congratulations to mrs e gib son who celebrated her s3rd birth day on aug 29th although not in good health mrs gibson has been able to be outside during the past two months t mr and mrs stewart ball and helen and donna of quaker hill spent sunday with mr and mrs jack morgan miss june morgan returned with them for a short holiday mrs graham and daughters of oshawa have been visiting for a week with mr and mrs s taylor and mr and mrs e lewis a family party comprising fourteen persons was held at the home of mr and mrs lewis prior to their departure home with mr graham on the evening of aug 20th mr and mrs evans ward spent the month of july visiting with relatives in the western provinces they report having a wonderful time and are looking forward to gillman home miss mcginnis and brother are visiting with their grandparents mr and mrs c plaxton congratulations to mrs t c brown who reached her 88th birth day on sunday august 27 she celebrated the occasion by attend ing church in the morning and during the afternoon received a pleasant surprise when her child ren and grandchildren numbering 24 including eight great grand children met and had tea with her this included a threestory birth day cake wilh candles and trim ming included sympathy of the community is extended to mr fred hamilton whose barn driving shed and other buildings together with hay grain livestock threshing machine and other implements were des troyed by fire early saturday morn ing cedar grove sympathy of the community is extended to the family of the late mr william taylor who passed away suddenly at his home satur day evening the recent strawberry social and euchre was held at woodland park last friday evening it was largely attended with 19 tables of
