dunbarton one evening last week resulting in a score of 87 for brougham local firemen save reforested area at dagmar prompt action by neighbors and the claremont fire department averted what might have been a fire of major proportions wednes day in the dagmar area it required the efforts of a dozen men includ ing the claremont equipment and equipment from a nearby ontario land and forest pickering council last week was the passing of the new building bylaw at their july meet ing one feature of the bylaw is that the builder must put up 300 to be kept by the township treasurer until the builder has completed certain specifications and has the roof on and the windows in it was expected there would be a great deal of criticism about this clause however a large deputation from rouge hills was quite in favor of the new bylaw even suggesting it could be made stronger a deputation from the pickering township ratepayers association met council in the afternoon and asked several questions concerning the bylaw and they too seemed quite satisfied the rouge hill delegation voiced their favour before council at the evening session barrett and mrs m pegg the next meeting will be
