a social hour and help a worthy cause my cats what a trick one of the meanest tricks we can think of was put over last saturday evening when a couple of half- starved looking cats were dropped by somebody on the main street thats a mean way to dispose of innocent animals that are not wanted far better to drown them jat home than to cast them out to suffer and be abused in a strange place this is not the first time cats have been dropped in the town by outsiders who havent enough decency to dispose of their animals in the proper way when they do not want them sunday evenings heavy rain was worth a million to the garden crops and berries strawberries now gett ing past their best for most varie ties were revived somewhat and a promising crop of raspberries for which sundays rain should pro vide ample moisture barring any heat wave and extreme sun rasp berries will be a big crop pasture lands are flourishing and things look promising for good crops now they are assured the necessary moisture however if the wet con tinued into the middle of the week fears are expressed that we are getting too much rain certainly haying operations are seriously hampered just a bit of news just by lloyd allan brown son of mr and mrs lloyd brown and gordon elford fairies son of mr eldon fairies r- we want fair play i j the town of oakville are cam paigning for a doortodoor mail delivery at the expense of the general public surely the people in oakville are able to go to the post office just as they have to in stouffviue markham richmond hill and scores of other places across canada in fact the places mentioned not only havt people pick up their mail at the post office but they rent a box and pay from one to five dollars a year what is fair and just about a situation where the residents of one town carry their own mail and pay for the privilege by renting a box while the people in oakviiie sit at home and have their mail carried to them we do not mention this by way of advocating mail delivery in stouffviue but merely to protest against other towns being granted a privilege at the expense of all the people if places the size of oakville get doortodoor delivery they should be made to pay for it mayfair restaurant monday thru friday 8 am 11 pm saturday 8 am 12 pm stouffville christian church invites you to attend a musical evening tuesday july 8th at 8 pm on the lawn of t h
