give up her work due to illness and is now confined to her bed for some time her many friends hope she will soon gain up her usual strength again as she will be great ly missed in church and sunday school work mr and mrs innis and mrs cookman of sonya also mr and mrs v j brown of toronto were weekend visitors at the home of mrs t c brown mr and mrs chenier and family of toronto called on mrs lemmon on sunday mr and mrs mitchell of toronto visited their daughter mrs al harvey and family on sunday mrs jno mclean called on her friend mrs t c brown on wed nesday last the sympathy of the community is extended to mrs walter hamil ton and family in their sudden bereavement several friends from here were at uxbridge on monday attending the funeral of the late wm ashton brougham institutes 38th birthday the womens institute was held in the township hall on june 1st and took the form of a birthday party in honour of the 3mh anni versary of the organization after the business part of the meeting was concluded mrs t xorlon gave two readings and mrs burk gave a history of the activities of the institute down through the years among the early workers in tha institute who are still in our midst are mrs t brown mrs t beer mrs m hamilton mrs lemmon these ladies were unable through illness to be present a pleasant feature of the meet ing was the awarding of prizes by the before he suddenly passed away with a heart attack at his home he was in his 66th year deceased was a lifelong resident of brougham his wife who sur vives him was the former bertha lillian carter to
