and therefore was well fitted to bring to us first hand information on her topic africa she had the privilege or visiting many parts of that land and of seeing living conditions in putlying districts which are still or the most primitive type mrs tay lor stressed the great desire of the people for education and the crying need of literature for those who have learned to read for the first time african delegates to this con ference were treated on an equality with representatives from eur opean and american countries we were given a vivid word picture or the progress being made at our mis sion stations in angola through the tireless efforts of our missionaries along evangelistic medical and educational lines native workers deserve great credit for carrying on the work so faithfully trans port mr mcmullen had not been in good health for some time though had often taken the trip to toronto with the milk truck on tuesday he seemed in usual health and was expecting to make the round trip as the truck was proceeding along the highway to ward markham at the tenth the passenger collapsed and was dead in a few minutes mr mcmullen was born at dun- barton in 1891 and had lived the greater part of his life at unionville he was a veteran of world war 1 he is survived by two brothers and one sister herman of union ville and ezra of toronto and edith mrs harmon hoover stouffvule
