in toronto expressed fear the public does not understand what is involved in the proposed changeover from 25 to gocycle power most consumers they have found believe the full 200000000 cost will be borne by some big impersonal central organization they do not understand the in dividual householders will have to spend anywhere from 15 to 100 to have his household electrical equipment altered the hydro men said it is not a simple matter of tak ing over a 25cycle motor and put ting in a gocycle motor they said a 25cycle motor rotates at 1500 rpm while a gocycle motor has a speed of 1800 rpm thus new gears and pulleys must be installed with the new motor if the equip ment it operates is to be turned at the proper speed here is their estimate of what must be done to various equipment
