from stouff- 1 villes squadron no 94 entrained for hagersville no 16 rcaf sta tion this morning wednesday for ten days camp accompanied by their commanding officer m e watts more than 5000 cadets from all across ontario are getting this training at seven service flying training stations in no 1 com mand this summer the boys from the local squad ron attending are stanley ball ken jennings georgenokesdou glas ward victor morley ken wil son douglas hinan leonard black earl anderson william manion ken morley the majority of the jboys have obtained steady employment during the summer and find it difficult to be away for ten days which ac- counts for the relatively small con tingent from the local unit cadets are now permitted to fly and there was unbounded enthusi asm among those boys who range in age from 15 to 17 unaccus tomed to plane rides but steeped in the lore of heavierthanair craft the cadets envisioned a real heyday at hagersville t each boy will get about half an hour in the air theyll be taken up in ansons two or three at a time and theres nothing but straight flying this familiarization flight is only a small part of the cadets 10 days at camp though itll be the high- light as far as theyre concerned the ground work includes aircraft recognition armament meterolo- gyand navigation then theres physicial training and full sports program the station is under buffalo died suddenly last wednesday after only two or- three days illness he had been in stouffville visiting his fa ther john monkhouse our longest standing business man and mer chant tailor but returned to his work in buffalo leaving his wife and john here until he should re turn for his summer holidays only back home a few days he was over come and passed away john monkhouse was born in
