ontario and the grooms man mr jesse baker of maple lemon vi lle the yps held a fine sleighing party on friday night mrs esther gray and mr walter gray spent wednesday in toronto attending the funeral of mrs grays sister mrs chadwick who was a frequent visitor here in the sum mer months mrs luella baker called on friends here on sunday we extend our congratulations to the newleyweds mr and mrs walter brown miss norma rae cwac is spending a couple of weeks at home we are sorry to hear that miss morrison is very ill at the home of her niece mrs hastings with whom she lives a number of the ladies spent last saturday afternoon with mrs tal bot 6th line it being her birthday mrs talbot was president of the lemonville wa for many years but lately due to ill health has been shut in melville we regret to announce the death of mr robert bruce who passed a- way at the brlerbush hospital in stouffville on sunday morning- in the passing of mr bruce the mel ville united church doses a faith ful member of long standing and the community a worthy citizen the melville wms held its reg ular meeting on wednesday at the home of mrs harvey houck with a good attendance- mrs benson my ers was elected treasurer in place of mrs e nigh plans were made to hold a quilting bee in the near future eightyfive neighbors met at the home of mr and mrs e nigh on tuesday evening to bid them fare well and to express in a tangible way the respect that their many friends have for them for years they have occupied a prominent place in the community and they have also been loyal members of the united church suporting all its activities mr nigh held the position of elder and sunday school siipt mrs nigh was organ ist and choir leader and their young people were active in the ypu sunday school and choir an ad dress of appreciation of their ser vices coupled with a sense of the loss sustained by the church and community was read by mr a fleming after which the couple were presented with a beautiful cedar chest containing a lovely blanket and bed spread mrs nigh also received a music copy of the hymnary from the choir both mr and mrs nigh made replies and everyone joined in the singing for they are jolly good fellows victoria square a number fro mhere attended the commencement exercises at rich- mon hill high school friday and saturday evenings congratulations are extended to mrs e caseley in winning a prize on the spintowin program over cfrb monday evening sympathy of our community is extended to mr leslie hood and family of buttonville in the death of mrs hood also to mrs r rod- ick and family of buttonville in the death of mr rodick the regular monthly meeting of the wa will be held wed mar 22 at 8 pm at the home of mrs ross nichols roll call will be answer ed by a mr leonard swanson who is leaving the com munity 80 years old mrs talbot curs birthday cake at wa gathering members of the lemonville wo mans association- friends and net ghbors of the sixth line and mem bers of their own family gathered at the home of mr and mrs e h talbot on saturday afternoon to extend greetings and best wishes to mrs talbot who was celebrating her eightieth birthday on sunday march 12 mrs talbot has been in poor health for several months and hearty wishes were extended by all for her restoration to health during the afternoon all joined insinging several of mrs talbots
