enlisting in june 1941 only recently he was promoted from the rank of flying officer to flight lieut having step ped from pilot officer to fo during his training days in brandon in june 1943 local boy former erma burk- holder fatherinlaw also critically iii while the life of one of our most prominent and- highly esteemed citi zens mr a c burkholder hung in the balance throughout last week a cable was received from london on saturday announcing the death of lieut fraser ritchie soninlaw of mr burkholder mrs ritchie the former erma burkholderis in stouff ville with her mother where she ha been spending much of her time owing to the critical condition ot her father lieut maxwell fraser ritchie 42 public relation officer at canadian military headquarters london diea suddenly in london eng thursday he was admitted to hospital only a few hours before his death he was buried in a military cemetery in the midst of canadian army training camps in southern england lieut ritchie was well known in toronto as press representative and before going overseas conducted his own business central news bureau which during his absence has been operated lac john gray rcaf who spent i b s wife his
