said she ached all over par ticularly in her jaw and the upper part of her partially severed leg both of which had been fractured asked how she ate with a broken jaw she said that three teeth had been t nocked out and she obtained nourishment by sipping through a tube were you on a liquid diet ask- er mr greer yes she replied with her eyes flashing and her voice ringing with a grim emphasis for thirteen weeks theright top of her head was hurt to such an extent that she couldnt stand having a comb drawn through her hair- for some time she said she added that the knee of her ampuated leg was now stiff which has held up the procuring of a new artificial limb her jaw is also numb on one side there is a feeling of it being swollen and the cold gives it the sensation of being picked as with pins and needles when court resumed yesterday morning dr w w baldwin of brooklin mrs slacks attending physician was one of the first wit nesses called and he remained on the stand for three and a quarter hours while he told of the condition of mrs slack and her husband who were brought to his office first about 1230 on the morning of march 9 he said that mrs slacks con dition was critical and he feared for a time that she would die in his office later she revived somewhat without regaining consciousness and he called an ambulance and had her taken to the oshawa general hospital she remained uncon scious for a few days he said and was in a semiconscious state for about three weeks a couple of days after the acci dent the doctor said dr breslin of toronto examined the patientand later she was examined by dr r f maclaien of whitby on september 3 3 in his presence to mr mcgarry the doctor said that mis slack was irrational during her first while in the hospital after the noon recess yesteiday mr mcgarry asked leave of the court to move that the two plain tiffs be examined by a docor for the demence due to certain allegations that came out in the evidence given by the physician while his lord ship agreed to an examination of the male plaintiff he saw no reason for a new one- for mis slack dur ing the testimony of dr baldwin mrs slack was not present in the court and witness judge and both counsel went very thoroughly into a consideiation of the injuries she had suffered dr stanley j phillips oshawa dentist who attended mis lack in dentist who attended mrs slack in teeth also gave evidence with the aid of a model of a jaw it was imposible to remove some of the injured teeth at first he stated since a great deal of damage would have been done owing to the broken jaw even yet a root that has to be re moved must wait tillthe danger of rebreaking the jaw is past mrs jessie hayes a special nurse who attended mrs slack for nearly tttlve days in the hospital stated that her patient was irrational in the things she said and did during her stay with her the nurse said that she saw the patient over a month later and she noticed a great diffeience in her mrs slack could not remember having had her in at tendance the nurse pointed out prior to the adjournment yester day afternoon norman irvine a former boarder at the slack home and mrs oscar
