mrs pearson was chosen to lay the provincial wreath at the foot of the park memorial gates in memory of those who fell in the first great war the town of walkerton has re ceived an offer from david robin son k c- of 1000 toward the purchase of a community hall for that town walkerton once was in a bad financial state but has risen from that position to be debt free and the town fathers declared they could not let- the generous offer go by so it has been accepted by the bruce capital the idea of some one making a gift of 1000 toward a community hall shows how keenly some people think along this line of providing suitable place of enter tainment for the young people and in connection with this idea of a community hall the village of stouffville stands very j much in need of such a place in fact that is why we pass on the suggestion from the town of walkerton the village of stouffville as a community is not properly providing for the develop ment of the dramatic ability that lies latent in the young people without suitable hall facilities this talent continues to lie idle and un- developed we would suggest that the first person who comes along with a 1000 gift for a community hall in stouffville should have the hall named after them we hope this idea will not start a mad rush but we do hope it will stir somebody to when this war is over dr l s klinck president of the
