here on sunday friends here will be sorry to learn of the serious illness of mrs morrison nee mona hulbert in the oshawa hospital the hulbert family were former residents in the house now occupied by mrs nelson sanderson mr and mrs cecil redman who have been rooming in the village for some time have rented the ar- b buckle apartment recently vacated hy mr and mrs lome hardy the other part of the house is tenanted hy mr and mrs george constable the svmes canning factory has completed canning operations for another season and while many acres of tomatoes were still avail able for the plant the acute shor tage of labor forced mr symes to close dovn the output of the factory this year is not expected to be more than half that of previous seasons r the claremont and north pickering branch of the red cross will launch their salvage collec tion the end of october and every one in the area is urged to prepare their salvage now and have it in readiness for the trucks dates will be announced
