alfred mlchell home on tuesday this week mr and mrswm duncan motor ed to bowmanville last week to visit an aged aunt who has been ill recently mr and mrs mcmullen spent sunday with mrs mcmullens par ents rev and mrs burke at the baptist porsonage mrs fpostill has returned home after having spent two weeks with her daughter at scarboro junction mrs wm winn was the guest of lr3 chas white for a week re turning to toronto on sunday mrs dr mcneeley and her nephew fred janes of brooklin were guests at mr and mrs alph hoovers on sunday some people have all the luck we congratulate mr and mrs wil fred burkholder on the arrival of tiwin daughters last week they already have two fine sons mr arnold hutchings and his daughter ruth are expecting to attend the hutchings family reunion next sunday at the heme of mrand mrs oscar wilson at brougham miss minnie hanson a former re sident here is spending a pleasant vacation with her friend mrs shank barbara gray tiny daughter of george and mrs gray ran in her first race at a picnic on tuesday and was she thrilled mr and mrs john nighswander and family had two very pleasant trips during the week they visit ed johns sister mrs jessie ellis at and it appears that a royal welcome still awaits any of us who visits them at king the ladies aid pienlc was hold last tuesday at wilsons park with quite a nice crowd there of course the supper was the main event and it was well under way- by sixthirty the men rose to the occasion and tried hard to beat each other at a good game- of barnyard golf horseshoes during which time the children and the ladies ran and won or lost in various races and con tests there were- not enough men for a softball game so some of the ladles did their stuff some of them had the audacity of trying to bring back the good old thought of well i used to but next day oh me a good row of spectators helped in the cheers and rooted- lustily for both sides- bach returned to their homes not s sound in wind and limb but after having a good timo and a real desire to meet again next year we wish to thank those in charge of the park for their hos pitality thoy even washed our dishes for us and thats somepin pretty western wedding ciurrie watson a very quiet wedding was solem nized at dodsland sask on friday july 17 where myrtle evelyn youngest daughter of mr and mrs dave watson became the bride of p o arthur after the signing of the register a sumptuous wedding breakfast was partaken the table being centred with a threetiered wedding cake the bot tom storey being formed into four hearts and swathed in tulle and smilax the toast to the bride was proposed by the rev james card and responded to by the groom the servieteur were the misses bicco campbell and mcbride and grace bender during the afternoon a reception was held in honor of the newly married couple when one hundred guests signed the register which was in charge of miss ruby ganton rn the happy couple left for saskatoon where the groom is
