qfidiwt wwlfm diefcl below is a letter received from fred curly thompson son of mr and mrs w f thompson of new market and formerly of stouffville who is in the rcaf and stationed at dafoe sask dafoe sask february 8 1942 dear mr nolan just a few lines to say hello to all the folks at home and to describe an incident which occurred through the widespread circulation of the trihune i was surprised and greatly pleas ed a couple of weeks ago to get a letter from ace davis at naicam sask inviting me up to his place for a visit on one of my leaves now i didnt remember ace as he left stouffville while i was a rather young fellow about 7 years old but you can be sure i accepted the invitation at once i had a two days leave about a week later and i headed north you ean well imagine how i felt to meet and talk to someone from homo ace farms 1 sections of good land and i certainly had a real time of it i was to get a real show of western hospitality as we eastern ers call it so of course i met mrs davis and family and then the talk started we talked for hours of people we both knew and it did both of us a lot of good even though i left stouffville some 17 years ago it is still home to me and it was great tomeet some one to talk over old times with you may be sure ace lost no time in making me acquainted with some of his countless friends to say that he is popular and wellknown is putting it mildly to my knowledge he is favorably known all oyer this part of the province but this is i what took me down so much all the peoplel met throughace invited me for meals and you know- there is a limit as to how much one can eat at any rate i- had three turkey din ners in two days and after living on rations you can well imagine how i enjoyed myself but it wasnt only the eats i en joyed to think that i have been here nine months and then find that ace lives only 40 miles from here we have train and bus service so it is an i easy matter to get to see him you can ibe sure when the invitation iwas extended by ace to go foack again i went we get a 48 hour leave every 10 days and it is well to have a place like ace davis to goto it was through my picture which you published
