presbyterian church interment will be made in the dickson hill cemetery the late alex mitchell was the second son of william mitchell and eizabeth greonaway and was born in the community where he a half years the united church parsonage was delighted on tuesday morning to learn that the two members of the family met with excellent success in their musical effort in the toronto conservatory of music examinations vernon atkinson passed his pipe organ finals and now holds the de gree of atcm while his sister thelma scored a similar success when she passed her seniour piano examinations with first class honors standing second in a class of 39 pupils both vernon and thelma are to bo congratulated on their fine musical attainments a just reward for long hours of arduous toil no doubt presbytery to induct revtdraynerjuly2 friends of pastor gather for farewell at ballantrae home a very pleasing event took place at the home of mrs jas gray ballantrae when the friends of rev mr and mrs irwin met to pay honor to their retiring pastor and his wife after three years on the lemonville ballantrae circuit the earlier part of the evening was spent in conversation and music after which mrs g d wright read a very fine address while mrs geo windsor presented mr irwin with a purse containing a sum of money and mrs john paisley presented mrs irwin with a mauve colored satin down comforter and pair of silk pillow cases mr irwin on behalf of mrs irwin and himself thanked the friends for their very kind words and generous gifts also for the many acts of kind ness shown them
