families were represented at the funeral of the late mrs guy who was laid to rest in the family plot at markham cemetery on monday afternoon the service was held in the north markham mbc church where the deceased worshipped for many years and where her late hus band the rev jesse guy ministered to the congregation some years ago the services were conducted by the rev mr mcarthy of the evangel cal centre toronto assisted by the rev p g lehman pastor of the church the pall bearers were geo hoover roy moyer hugh boyd vernon pike henry miller and thos hastings the late mrs guy who was over eighty years of age will long be remembered by a very large circle of friends for her kindly and cheery disposition and fine christian char acter we extend our sympathy to the sorrowing relatives and friends green river mr and mrs tom williams ob served their 26th wedding anniver sary quietly on monday march 10 mrs m draper has been kept indoors for the past few days with a bad cold the ladies will meet classes in progress most of the time and for the first period we chose mr lehmans class on new test ament in which the parables were being taken next came ohapel hour which was taken by principal dishes after lunch we attended the class on sunday school work taken by mr shantz other subjects taught are mission music reading doctrine church history christian evidences grammar and prelimin ary bible tho work of the holy spirit and child study are taken in the tuesday evening classes were sure youd onjoy a visit to this bibw- school try it gormley sunday afternoon the young i people from the stouffville bible school are taking the afternoon service in the mennonite church and at bethesda in the evening sunday visitors with mr and mrs will dennie were mr and mrs harry white and family of victoria square mr fred slater who is at the broikside convalescent home had tea with mr and mrs a t gooding and family on sunday childrens meeting will be at the home of mrs murray baker on saturday afternoon at 230 mr and mrs milton clark of peterborough also mr and mrs frank rowbotham and imrs t w klinck of stouffville visited with mr and mrs lome baker and mr and mrs murray baker on tuesday bethesda mr and mrs fred allen and family enjoyed tea saturday even ing with the w empringham fam ilv misses selena and flossie atkin son had tea on sunday with the hunt family mrs lou brillinger spent a few days with mr and mrs herb hisey at ringwood mr and mrs fred hoover were sunday visitors with imr and mrs lou brillinger and leonard miss alma burkholder spent several days in aurora with miss reta chapman mr and mrs a galbraith of newtonbrook spent saturday with misses s and f atkinson sunday visitors with mr and mrs a b shelter were miss delma at kinson and mr and mrs fred yake the wjm will hold a quilting bee next wednesday march 19 th in the church we are pleased to see mrs wm hunt out again she having been bedfast since before christmas quite a number from here attend ed the temperance contest at van- dorf miss ruth boadway and master glen stewart represented our ss among the contestants lemonville mr and mrs wilfred yake of aurora wish to announce the birth of a daughter miss velma and evelyn yake were guests of misses erla and norma gray on sunday we are pleased to report that mrs floyd forsyth is gradually improv ing after her recent operation in the newmarket hospital she is staying with her mother for a few days now mrs clara pattenden and family accompanied by mrs wilkie and family of claremont were sunday visitors of mr and mrs fred sand ers mr and mrs charles preston and family mr and mrs austin yake and family spent an enjoyable evening with mr and mrs art huckerly on friday night as the result of the waste mat erial campaign the school children
