marvelous radios stores limited there is a bylaw somewhere in the archives at the council chambers which forbids riding bicycles on the sidewalks but it would seem that too many boys do not know of its existence some of them are bold enough to ring the bell to warn people to get out of the way then whizz by at a lively clip one evening last week a lad collided with a woman knocked her hat off and shook her up generally we have called attention to the bylaw on previous occasions and unless more care is taken the cop will have to step into the breach and enforce the law that is now being winked at certainly fast riding should not be tolerated and when there is not room to pass safely cyclists should dismount or rid off onto the side it would seem to be the duty of parents to caution their sons who have wheels to be cateful and so acquaint them with the fact they have second place to pedestrians on the walks of the village other wise the privilege may be can celled and the cop may be in structed to clamp down on rid ers using the walks for wheel ing mr carl boadway shell oil station proprietor is looking for a man who proved to be an im- poster when he passed a worth less d woodburn and mrs nolan are in toronto this week for the grand chap ter meetings of the eastern star the regular price of admission saturday matinee at 230 15c and 25c i think many farmers are making a mistake refusing to stack their gi during an un certain season like this one and as a result thousands of bush els of barley oats and wheat are ruined so declared an old and successful tiller of the soil to this paper on saturday he continued by pointing out that some farmers have made no effort to save the crop after toiling over it all year hauling direct from the field to the threshing machine is all very nice but anyone could see that this was a hazardous way to do this year of course this old critic ad mitted that some farmers really could not save all their crops but he knew of some who just left everything to chance and have a monument of waste where a few weeks ago grain was seen a lot of the trouble was due to farmers waiting their turn for the threshers and while their barns may have been full they chanced what stood out in the fields notwithstanding the fact there is quite a considerable loss in the stouffville area with much grain but the great majority of farmers have com pleted harvest some grain threshed is considered useless and is being dried on barn floors in the hope it may be fit for feed of some kind 2 savings high quality at the ubuui stone personal service
