of claremont is not improving in health miss harvey and miss t gregg were in the city on fri day mr and mrs john albright of uxbridge visited with the form ers sister mrs john bushby on friday mr dimerjon who has been in the employ of the phillips plant is now working in toron to and may move to the city shortly the ed lewis bakery is undergoing interior improve ments mr and mrs walter bushby of oshawa visited the formers mother mrs john bushby sunday mrs a d peters of port perry visited recently with her daughter and family mrs geo beverley mrs abram mantle formerly of claremont and now of tor onto has been visiting with her daughter and family mrs fred redshaw miss margaret mcnab who has been very poorly now has a trained- nurse in attendance mrs bradbury and baby from uxbridge were we understand that a nephew of mrs jas gibson was one of two flyers involved recently in an airplane crash near cobourg mrs charles and mrs jos empringham attended a musical recital in hart house one even ing last week miss betty harris atcm a niece of the former was one of the pianists mrs ted tomlinson and daugh ter jane of geraldton have been visiting with dr and mrs n f tomlinson and with her parents mr and mrs clayton of mark- ham james crossland of the 7th concession is completing exten sive improvements to his barns under which have been placed new stabling with a 75x25 hog pen to the claremont at the mt albert field day re deemed the village name during the evening concert when h carried off a cash award in the amateur contest for this vocal solo horse displayed at show two of mr nelson waggs prizewinning stallions were on exhibition at the peterboro clydesdale field day on satur day this is an annual horse show promoted by the peter boro clydesdale breeders and while there were no prizes for the claremont horses they formed a highclass addition to the show will not call minister immediately it is understood that the i board of the baptist church will not seek a regular birthday on satur day june 29 mrs hill who was the former emmaline pugh has spent most of her long lifetime in claremont and vicinity on march 27th 1889 she married william hill who passed away only a short time ago mrs hill although she has been poorly from time to time of late is in comparatively good health the family including three sons george of claremont morgan on the townline and clayton on the 5th of uxbridge along with a daughter mrs harold dickin son of uxbridge twp were all present bestowing gifts and good wishes on the happy occa- sionanother daughter mrs w mcnelly lives in alberta 20 con 7 pickering mrs jos mitchell who was the former mary ann lewis daughter of mr and mrs john lewis of i brooklin mrs mitchell who had jbeen in failing health for some i time had with her husband been i a resident of the 7th concession for 34 years in addition to a j sorrowing husband she is sur- l vived by one son jack at home i three brothers thos and frank of brooklin george of milwau- kee
