after which the numerous gifts from the wellladen tree were dis tributed to all a joint gathering of the peaches bethesda and melville young peoples unions was held in the melville church on fri day evening there was a large representation from all groups the devotional period was con ducted by the bethesda union under the leadership of miss reta atkinson and was partic ularly suited to the occasion and well carried out by those chosen to take part the peaches union then provided a program of musical selections readings and recitations that were acceptable to all the peaches union was ably led by miss elva kirk after the program in the church the company adjourned to the annual skating party the annual skating party of the toronto east rural young peoples union will be held at uxbridge arena on thursday january 11th skating com mencing at 8 pm following the skate refreshments will be serv ed in basement of the uxbridge united church a prize will be awarded to the society
