mcdonalds modern residence we have a lifetime interest in the place mr and mrs vaughan blueman and son were at their scugog farm on saturday and later visited mrs blueman sr in ux bridge harry flumerfelt visited ux bridge last week we are often accustomed to think of western canada in terms of cold weather well mr hilton supt of ault wiborg co where the flash writer is employed has just re turned from a trip to winni peg where the weather was so mild he did not wear an over coat we hear there is to be a conference at uxbridge over the highway construction program surely they will not stand for anything being built that does not start at the south end of the municipality of uxbridge and not somewhere north of uxbridge town where the south ern end of the municipality will receive no benefit every body travels south we will keep our eye on that early potato patch belonging to i george wilson in uxbridge township and if we get a chance we will be glad to sample them being about the first patch in the township this season it would be well for us to record when they go to market and the yield just to see how it compares with later planting on sunday morning we here in the city had to fall in line on the new time like it or not well it does give us an hour more daylight after getting out of the big buildings but as for our personal feelings we can say that we had to get up at 530 every winter morning and now we have to rise at 430 country time oh well we heard a lady in the street car say the other day that she has to rise at 5 oclock and now it will be four to get breakfast for two who must be in their places at 7 and the lady 60 years old has been doing this for 17 years you see not all early risers are in the country best wishes to mr and mrs hubbard who have moved from goodwood to lindsay sorry to hear that george evans lost part of his one fin ger but george will the more appreciate the remaining nine on many occasions the cor respondent has received gifts through the mail during our re cent long illness but arriving home last saturday how de lighted we were to receive not a book some candy or pippin apples so sir it was a real beauty chicken all cooked and ready for the table my oh my there are some things in life that make us glad and as we shared the gift with our family we realized it was some chicken we learn that three new totts commenced school at goodwood after easter holidays and to them we hope for a successful academic career we recall our own start when the attendance stood at 87 jack frost used to freeze the ink bottles and the pails of water standing in the anti rooms we all should have proved good stokers for each boy had his turn in keeping on the fires yes and we had to eat thawed out sandwiches too but it was all fun then and our digestive organs never rebelled howard harper was warming new garments for old by our fine art of dyeing garment youve tiretf of or perhaps feel youve been seen in too often yet too good to throw away let us dye it into one of the new interesting similes we have made a very careful study of dyeing and are accomplishing some surprising results consult us in case your gar ment cannot be dyed to advantage well frankly tell you so we take pride in fine dyeing agent town shaws store stouffville phone 9512 chester cleaners and dyers limited toronto a seat at the forester celebra tion in maple leaf gardens the other night the passing of miss isabella murison recalls to us old memories of the murison store and while she lies in peaceful sleep her memory we shall always keep we are thinking just now of a church about to close its doors after 70 years of service the building is fractically all that is left and one wonders where the congregation has scattered to times and conditions change but one we are sure christ the head of the church never never changeth hes the same yesterday today and forever sorry that jack rae is on the sick list especially are we solicitious for him you see there is so much of him to get sick as compared to we little chaps we learn that mr latcham our esteemed friend is not feel ing very well these days hope for quick recovery our friend mrs joe middle- ton is ill at the home of her daughter on pape avenue she received a floral gift the other day which we trust she appreciated get your tickets early for the molly macgregor studio dance recital at the eastern high school of commerce on may 31 goodwood talent will be on the program so goodwood institute are planning an entertainment well right here we
