live moie nearly as we pray under the auspices of group no4 of the ladies aid convener mrs shank the ladies aid will meet at the home of mrs herbert percy on wednesday april 26 at 230 pm there will be a missionary evening at the church on wed nesday april 26th rev mr augustine of claremont will be guest speaker a program will be given mongolia miss fay green spent a few days in toronto recently miss verna brown was home on sunday perhaps it is spring after all at least the roads are muddy if that means anything miss evelyn gooding spent a couple of days with mr and mrs e gooding mr and mrs fred pugh and family visited with mr and mrs j reesor recently our singsong was held this week at the home of mr and mrs e gooding we are sorry that mrs o zeller has been sick but hope she is soon feeling better mrs a fuller and dorothy spent a couple of days in toronto visiting with relatives miss ruth empey from the toronto normal school is visit ing our school this week mr and mrs allan wideman attended the funeral of mr a reesor last friday mr and mrs a petty of cherrywood also mrs sanford of syracuse visited with mr and mrs clarke bunker on sunday mr and mrs ed wideman and daughters spent sunday with miss louie and mr fred robinson of goodwood mrs eldon giooding enter tained her sunday school class at a quilting last tuesday afternoon on sunday afternoon the ser vice was taken by two of the city mission workers who were attending the mission work ers convention at the mennon- ite church miss snider who had visited the sunday school be fore remarked on the increase in attendance births mcgrath at edmonton to rev and mrs charles mcgrath nee jean matthews a son morley harold named for rev morley hall and rev harold slade hisey at willowdale to rev and mrs bruce rid of butter there is a plan under way to get rid of the surplus butter in canada by distributing it to the needy the plan will be financed by the dominion government and the distribution will be un der the auspices of existing organizations well fitted to at tend to such matters the object is to take away the oversupply in order to give butter fat producers a chance to get a fair return for their product the heavy producing season for butter is advancing and will soon be here and the desire is to clear the markets before the season arrives it will be another application of the bonus system and it is doubtful if the benefits will be great unless there is a change made in our w of doing busi ness if the dairy farmers keep on turning to butter as they have in the past there is noth ing to prevent them piling up another surplus by the end of the pasture season if they take the advice of men well fitted to give itand turn their attention to cheese factories from may to october they will be finding a better output for their product they will be making something which can be readily exported and sold and they will also be doing their share at keeping the but ter market from spent a few days in the city mr and mrs grant baker of rosedale haliburton district visited over the weekend with her parents mr and mrs 0 madill they brought a number of gallons of maple syrup down which they had made in the northern area for which they found quick sale bloomington too late last week mr and mrs cliff winn of toronto spent the weekend with her mother mrs lemon mr and mrs robt leask and family from greenbank visited the fockler home mr- and mrs theo warder kitchener were visitors at the ramer home miss winn calder toronto was a sunday guest of miss audrey smith welcome to mr and mrs mills of langstaff who moved here to the lou tindall farm miss cutler school teacher was visiting in bloomington this week miss luella paisley spent sunday in burlington visiting her cousin miss kathleen mc- cay sells pebcheron wm rennie of the 10th con cession of markham sold one of his fine percheron mares this week to mr george rodanz for use on burnbrae farms at ringwood mr rodanz paid a rather unusual price for this horse flesh but mr rennie al ways produces something nice along this line and it brings its reward this percheron mare will make a worthy addition to the burnbrae
