milroy recently attended a double funeral at ballinafad where the mothers age was 106 and her daughter 85 it was very difficult to ascertain which was the older as they both looked the same age yet not as old as the younger of the two the death occurred on sun day morning last of mrs geo freeman who was formerly nellie ann dimma she has been in poor health for the past two months or so mrs free man played an active part in social life and was a life mem ber of zion united church our community extend their sym pathy to the bereaved family our community was greatly shocked on tuesday last when we heard of the sudden death of alvin reesor alvin was very well known to us as he was born and grew up here later he went to markham and with his brother charles started a mill which very soon became known as reesors marmill ltd the funeral on friday last to wide- mans cemetery was one of the largest funerals held in this dis trict and it showed the high esteem in which he was held we express our words of sym pathy to the family who mourn his loss claremont vandorf mr and mrs isaac morton and don were presented with a chair by wesley community on sunday morning they are moving to their new home near lindsay in the near future but our loss will be someones gain miss maijorie foster who has been employed by mr morton for some time was presented with a purse by her sunday school class mr his long term of office little gloria beverely daughter of mr and mrs george beverely is progressing nicely following an operation last saturday when she had her tonsils removed mr sherman rumohr suffer ed a slight stroke on sunday morning while attending wor ship in the united church mr rumohr who is an elderly gentleman had to be assisted from the service to his home where he was attended by dr n f tomlinson a large gathering of local young people honored miss dorothy miller with a miscel laneous shower in the commun ity hall on monflay night re cent announcement has been made of the marriage of miss miller to mr bruce taylor of uxbridge township to take place on saturday april 22 mrs thomas patterson who has been in poor health for some time is improving following a severe cold which she was suffering from last week on saturday evening miss katherine cameion was host to a number of friends for a social evening at her home one of the most interesting bits of entertainment
